Wall Former – Peever, SD/Sisseton, SD
Our client in Sisseton, SD is seeking Wall Formers to join the 2026 Construction Season. They are a family-owned company specializing in high-quality concrete projects, and they take pride in their craftsmanship and efficiency.
Position Overview
The Wall Former will be responsible for constructing, setting, and aligning forms for concrete walls, ensuring precision and quality in the creation of structural components for various construction projects, such as buildings, retaining walls, and other concrete structures. The ideal candidate will have experience in formwork, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to safety and teamwork.
Responsibilities
• Build, assemble, and set wooden, metal, or prefabricated forms for concrete walls according to blueprints, specifications, or project plans.
• Measure, cut, and shape materials to create accurate formwork for concrete pouring.
• Install reinforcements, rebar, and anchor bolts within forms to ensure structural stability.
• Align and secure forms using tools such as hammers, levels, plumb bobs, and other equipment to ensure vertical and horizontal accuracy.
• Pour and assist with spreading concrete into forms, ensuring proper placement and consolidation.
• Strip and remove forms after concrete has cured, cleaning and maintaining form materials for reuse.
• Inspect forms for defects and make adjustments to ensure quality and compliance with project standards.
• Collaborate with concrete finishers, laborers, and other crew members to meet project timelines and specifications.
• Assist with site preparation, including grading and leveling, as needed.
Qualifications
• Proven experience as a Wall Former, Carpenter, or similar role in concrete construction.
• Knowledge of formwork systems, concrete pouring techniques, and construction materials.
• Proficiency with hand tools (e.g., hammers, saws, levels) and power tools used in formwork.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and construction plans.
• Strong attention to detail and precision in setting forms to ensure structural integrity.
• Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks, lift heavy materials (50+ pounds), and work in various weather conditions.
• Basic math skills for measuring, cutting, and calculating material requirements.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (preferred).
